Family history: Son of Alex McLachlan, 23 Prospect Street, Camelon and of the late Ann McLachlan, nee McNicol. He was employed as a moulder prior to enlisting on 10 September 1914. He had two brothers Donald and Keir and four sisters Isabella, Mary, Janice, and Annie.
